Psychedelic Integration

Throughout history, plant medicine has been used across cultures and traditions as a source of healing, insight, and connection. Today, many individuals are exploring these experiences with the intention of personal growth, emotional release, or spiritual understanding. Psychedelic Integration is an option for those coming into therapy with past psychedelic experiences. These sessions are designed to provide a space for clients to process, integrate insights and emotions from their experiences, and address challenges or difficult emotions that may have surfaced.

Why is trauma work important?

From a holistic perspective, trauma includes any situation that overwhelms our capacity to adapt, connect, and thrive. Trauma is not only about what happened — it can also include what didn’t happen, such as emotional neglect, misattunement, or the absence of safety and support during critical times in life.

At the root of trauma are questions of safety: Am I safe with others? Am I safe to be myself?

When our safety is threatened or even perceived to be, we adapt. We develop coping mechanisms — fight/flight/fawn/freeze to survive. These responses are protective, sometimes even lifesaving in the moment. But over time, when our environment changes and these coping mechanisms persist, they can limit our ability to feel, connect, and live fully in the moment.

This often leads to disconnection — from ourselves, others, and a sense of meaning or belonging.

Trauma work helps us reconnect to what was lost. By safely exploring the roots of emotional pain, we can begin to release old patterns, restore self-compassion, and cultivate resilience. Healing is not about erasing the past — it’s about reclaiming your capacity to live fully in the present.

“Trauma is that scarring that makes you
less flexible, more rigid, less feeling
and more defended.” ― Gabor Maté
