Ketamine Assisted EMDR
Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy (KA-EMDR)
KA-EMDR is an innovative trauma treatment that combines the proven power of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with low-dose (psycholytic) ketamine to help clients process unresolved trauma, anxiety, and emotional distress more effectively.
This approach is ideal for those who:
-
Struggle with trauma-related symptoms that haven’t fully resolved through traditional therapy
-
Have difficulty accessing or processing painful memories
-
Want a science-backed, trauma-informed alternative to longer, psychedelic ketamine sessions

How It Works
Prior to treatment, you and your therapist will identify key issues and trauma targets. You’ll also complete a medical screening with a licensed provider who can prescribe ketamine if appropriate.
In session, you’ll self-administer a low dose of ketamine to promote emotional openness and reduce psychological defenses. This allows for deeper and more efficient EMDR processing—while keeping you awake, alert, and in control.
Sessions last approximately 2 hours and are designed to be gentle, focused, and effective. Unlike high-dose psychedelic experiences, KA-EMDR maintains full client participation and awareness throughout.

Benefits of KA-EMDR
-
Enhances EMDR by expanding your emotional tolerance and reducing fear
-
Increases neuroplasticity, helping the brain form healthier thought patterns
-
Reduces avoidance and rumination
-
Shorter, more cost-effective than full psychedelic therapy models

Is It Right for You?
KA-EMDR is not appropriate for everyone. A thorough psychological and medical evaluation is required. While early research is promising, it remains an emerging treatment, and individual results vary.
Mild side effects such as nausea, dizziness, or dissociation may occur but are typically short-lived.
